Looking for a refresh? Lemongrass’ bright and cheerful fragrance, combined with antiseptic, toning and deodorising properties, makes the oil a perfect lift to put a spring in your step.
Lemongrass is a perennial tropical plant native to India which grows long aromatic leaves up to 1.5 meters. Sourced from Indonesia, lemongrass is harvested throughout the year and steam distilled to produce a dark yellow essential oil with a sweet and lemon-like aroma.
The fragrance of lemongrass is often linked to summer itching, as the plant and its oil have been traditionally used as a natural and non-toxic mosquito repellent. However, it has many more uses beyond this. The zingy scent is actually said to have antidepressant properties and the oil is often used in massage oils and aromatherapy to relieve head and muscle aches.
Thanks to its antifungal and antiseptic properties, lemongrass oil is excellent to use in deodorants and keep you feeling clean and fresh whilst smelling great. It is also used in dental care for the same reason.
