What’s in it for you?
This self-preserving version of our cult sesame, avocado and almond moisturiser is packed with ingredients to help your skin barrier retain moisture and stem the loss of essential nutrients. Because dehydrated skin can be extra vulnerable to external exposures, we’ve used beautiful plant oils with antioxidant properties, which are believed to support your skin’s ability to withstand stress. This luxurious moisturiser is composed of over 20% of vitamin E-rich sesame oil and over 4% avocado oil, which is rich in the oleic and linoleic acids associated with skin restoration.

Anti-inflammatory and emollient almond oil meets rose and aloe to soothe the skin, while evening primrose oil helps your skin barrier to maintain softness and elasticity. A slightly higher cocoa butter content than the original cream, gives this self-preserving formula a slightly more emollient feel, making it extra good for especially dry skin.

What’s in it for the planet?
Pesticide-free sesame oil from a project in Uganda provides local farmers with a source of stable income, and has led to the installation of community wells in the area. The Fair Trade and organic cocoa butter inside is also 100% traceable from sources in Sierra Leone, Dominican Republic and Peru where agroforestry models are in practice to protect local forests.

What is self-preserving?
We want to make products that care for your skin barrier with minimal interference to your microbiome: the community of resident microorganisms that protect your skin against pathogens. The effects of preservatives on our microbiome and the environment are not yet fully clear. But, because preservatives are biocidal, we prefer to use them in minimal amounts below legal maximums, or not at all. We achieve this with clever product formulation, fast despatch from our factories and short shelf lives. Where a product is formulated to stay fresh without synthetic preservatives (as defined under Annex 5 of the E.U Cosmetic Regulations), we call it ‘self-preserving’.

How to use:
Consider this self-preserving formula a super concentrated version of the original formula you may know and love. Cleanse and tone, then gently pat in this enriching vegan moisturiser with clean hands. You can apply to damp skin if you prefer a lighter feel. Store in cool, dry conditions. Best used fresh within six months.
